ICE has been terrorizing our neighborhoods and workplaces in their efforts to carry out the Trump administration’s white nativist agenda. But across the country, people have been standing up and thwarting their racist plans.
Resistance to ICE raids has become the most visible and inspiring form of fightback we’ve seen in a time when so many are feeling overwhelmed and powerless. Indeed, many have gone out on the streets for the recent No Kings and Hands Off marches, but have rightly come away skeptical that single days of symbolic protest or hopes about next year’s midterms can do anything to change the dire situation we face here and now.
What we have seen, from LA to Chicago, is that standing up to ICE shows that we do have power to push back on the state, to protect each other, and to derail the Trump administration’s far right agenda when we get organized and act together with our coworkers, neighbors, or classmates.
But this is no easy task. Most raids are over so fast that rapid response networks arrive on the scene after people have already been snatched. That’s why it’s important for every block, apartment building, school, and workplace to be organized to resist raids before federal agents even appear.
Join this workshop to discuss how you can start preparing with your coworkers to shut the door on ICE in your own workplace, so that we can continue expanding and strengthening resistance to the Trump administration’s authoritarian onslaught.
Note: this webinar will take place in English. Depending on interest, we hope to organize a Spanish language edition in the near future.
